Fitness – Definitions, Physical, Biology, Psychology, Types, and More

Fitness Definitions

Fitness is the ability or posture that a person or thing possesses to carry out a specific activity or the capacity and skill for developing and good performance of a business, industry, art, or sport.

Aptitude comes from the Latin Optus, which means “capable of”.

In this way, it is unspoken that the term aptitude can apply in different settings in which the human being develops, both in those that involve cognitive, physical, biological, labour, and analytical capacities, among others.

For example, a curriculum vitae or life sheet must prepare, delivered, or sent when looking for a job. The professional or unpaid skills that identify the candidate running for a specific position state.

These qualities describe the individual as the ideal and competent candidate to obtain the requested job, and they seek to stand out from the other candidates. Some professional skills may be responsibility, honesty, ability to work in a group and under pressure, creativity, and dynamism.

Physical of Fitness

Physical fitness is the natural condition of an individual’s body to carry out different physical or athletic tasks. Good physical fitness translates into minimum margins of endurance, strength, speed and flexibility that allow biological studies to be carried out satisfactorily.

This aptitude is usually measured by physical exams, and is essential, for example, to join the army or join gyms or specific sports competitions.

Psychology in Fitness

Aptitude in the psychological context refers to the cognitive skills and abilities that a person possesses or develops to link their skills in learning, text comprehension and the various types of reasoning.

For example, a person who learns quickly and at the same time can apply new knowledge in the context of their reality is an individual who stands out for having this aptitude.

Likewise, aptitude refers in psychology to the possibility of predicting a person with remarkable abilities to carry out one or more activities effectively and efficiently.

For example, when it is seen that a child plays soccer very well, it can say that he has the aptitude to be a professional player in that area.

Biology in Fitness

Fitness in biology refers to the characteristics and capabilities that a living being possesses to survive and adapt to a particular environment. It can be related to the theories of evolution.

In other words, it indicates all those characteristics or circumstances in which an individual demonstrates their fortes and abilities to overcome adversity or new natural changes for various reasons or factors.

Types of Fitness

In psychology, the following types of aptitude are distinguished:

What Types of Fitness are there?

Some of the general skills that a person can develop are the following:

  • Social: skills that allow interaction with other people or groups.
  • Abstract: The ability to understand complex concepts.
  • Mechanics: skills to understand movement.
  • Artistic: skills for the use of shapes and colours.
  • Spatial: the ability for the proper use of space.
  • Visual-motor: the ability to coordinate eye and hand movements.
  • Verbal: the ability to understand and use words.
  • Numerical: the ability to understand and perform numerical operations.

When speaking of natural aptitudes, reference is made to “talents”, those abilities for which one has a particular innate ability.

What is the difference Between Fitness and Attitude?

This is a recurring doubt, even falling into error, but we will dispel it with an obvious example. At work, you can have an outstanding résumé, full of superior job skills, that catches the eye of every boss at work. But this is useless if it is not accompanied by attitude. Attitude refers to motivation, desire, encouragement, and the ability to transmit positive energy to the work team… Thus, attitude at work is as important as aptitude.

When presenting yourself for a job interview, we recommend preparing a list of skills and attitudes. This translates into offering a vision of what we can and know how to do and how or in what way we can do it. This is a very favourable strategy in job interviews to give the candidate a complete vision.

Aptitude is the ability of an separate to perform efficiently and correctly in a given activity and context. In other words, it is around having sufficiency, suitability, capacity and willingness. Its to meet an expectation, whether physical, mental or psychological.

The word aptitude comes from the Latin aptitude. Which translates as “skill “or “faculty” and is often used in various fields with the same meaning. In the case of psychology. However, this concept encompasses both mental or cognitive abilities (reasoning, mental speed, etc.) and emotional or personality ones.

This concept is related to the individual’s intelligence and innate and learned abilities. Simply put, aptitude has to do with how fit we are to fulfil a task.
